How We Help Foot/Ankle Pain
We can help you with foot and ankle pain at our Chagrin Falls clinic.
Signs or Symptoms
Severe pain or ache around the heel bone on the bottom of the foot
Description
Plantar fasciitis, which can cause a heel spur, is a painful foot condition. The
muscles of the bottom of the foot become over-contracted. This over-contraction
causes inflammation and is then called plantar fasciitis. The over-contraction of
the muscles pull on the heel bone and slowly a spur can form on the heel bone.
Causes
Foot pronation (dropping of the arch) is the major cause
Our Effective Approach
1. The muscles that support the foot and ankle are evaluated to find the ones that
are malfunctioning and then corrected via applied kinesiology technique.
2. Postural evaluation of the feet, ankles, knees and hips is utilized. Any structural
imbalances are identified and corrected.
3. Any misalignment of the foot bones is corrected with particular attention being
placed on the heel bone, which is usually slipped backward and needs to be adjusted
forward.
4. The attention is then shifted to the assessment and treatment of the localized
structures that are injured and failing to support the foot properly. These can
include: ligaments, muscles, skin and joints.
5. Depending on the foot/ankle complex, orthotics may be needed to support the foot
properly.
6. Specific stretches and nutritional supplements are recommended to speed healing
and reduce pain and inflammation. Specific nutrients can actually melt bone
spurs!
