How We Help Neck Pain

We can help you with neck pain at our Chagrin Falls clinic.

There are several causes of neck pain including:

  • Injury/ accident
  • Degenerative changes of the cervical spine and discs(arthritis)
  • Tension and stress
  • Posture

Symptoms

Pain, headache, swelling, stiffness, dizziness, tingling down shoulder and into hand.

Conventional Approach

Drugs and surgery

Our Approach: less invasive and more effective:

  1. Assess the condition of the neck using: range of motion, neurologic muscle testing including specific testing of the four main neck muscles that connect the head to the torso, x-rays or MRI(if warranted).

  2. Correct any spinal, disc or muscle imbalances. These imbalances can cause irritation of muscles and nerves and surrounding tissues. We use chiropractic and
applied kinesiology treatments to align the spine and remove the irritation so you can start to feel better now. This may include spinal corrections to one or more of the cervical discs or vertebra. Since the body is connected, other parts might need treatment to correct the neck pain as well.

  3. Lymphatic Drainage: tight, sore muscles often have a build up of fluid resulting from and injury or imbalance. This fluid build up causes pain. Each muscle has an associated reflex point that, when treated, flushes out these fluids and instantly decreases pain and swelling.

  4. Cranial Bone or TMJ Imbalances: The skull is not a fixed structure. The cranial bones all move and pump cerebral spinal fluid to the spinal cord and nerves. These bones can get stuck causing neck pain, headaches and even high blood pressure. Through cranial manipulation, we restore proper position and movement of these bones.

  5. Jaw Joint Imbalances(TMJ): Did you know that if the jaw is misaligned, problems such as neck pain and low back pain (among others) can occur?
The jaw plays a major role in balancing the entire body. This is often overlooked and can result in a lifetime of pain and discomfort for the patient.

  6. Intestinal Imbalance. Yes, an imbalance of the intestines is a common cause of neck pain, especially when no injury occurred. The ileocecal valve is a valve in the intestines that allows waste to travel from the small intestine to the colon. When this valve malfunctions, toxic fecal waste gets reabsorbed into the bloodstream causing many possible symptoms including neck pain and headaches. Symptoms almost always decrease immediately after our treatment is applied.

  7. Nutrition: Dietary recommendations and supplements to speed the healing and reduce inflammation are also considered.
